What I eat these days

Over the last few years I have shifted my nutritional focus. I am now eating what I want. I have my target macros of protein and carbs trying to put weight on (I like to think I can control my body). I wasn’t able to eat like this when I was in my early 20s and 30s.  As mentioned in my first post I don’t have daily flare ups anymore. But for a while now, after 20 years of dieting, fasting, raw foods, organic foods, supplements like enzymes green paw paw etc I am eating what the fuck I want. Im eating:

  • organic chicken
  • red meat
  • coconut oil, fish oil, nuts
  • Mainly gluten free carbs. I do occasionally eat gluten.
  • Mineral supplements
  • gluten free probiotics like GS Bio Bubble
  • salads (if I feel like it)
  • high GI carbs sugars and other crap if i feel like it
  • Nandos
  • ice cream

I am currently experimenting with ways of eating such as Intermittent Fasting and Carb Back Loading. Currently I take what I want from CBL. I did it seriously for a few months as per his book but I want carbs every night now. The less carbs I have during the day feels better. I still bloat occasional and I am never “regular”.

Less carbs by the most part during the day helps me feel cleaner and feels better with less struggle for me. Once carbs are in my system I usually notice a difference. Carb powder helps me get my carbs in at the moment if i can’t get my targets in with food. In the morning my aim is to awaken feeling good, with no bloating and soft stomach. The CBL method is helping here. If i eat more than 300g or carbs I often wake up full/bloated still and I loose that clean/good feeling.

I am sticking to it about 80-100% of the time.

Note: What I have noted with my appetite and digestion is that eating a certain way after introducing something like IF or CBL feels good for a little while and then my body loses appetite and it doesn’t feel so good anymore, and I struggle to eat and feel good. I’m not sure if this has something to do with the brain to colon nerve link mentioned in a previous post or is completely unrelated.
